Ornare captivates the audience with a series of talks at DW! 2024
As a participant in the official DW! Sao Paulo Design Week program, Ornare hosted a day dedicated to lectures in partnership with Cosentino Brasil. Art expert Marina Conde, Louis Vuitton’s Learning Manager Marcela Marquetti, architect Linda Cris Araujo, and psychoanalyst Carol Tilkian discussed design interactions with art, entrepreneurship, luxury hospitality, and affective education.
Ornare participated in the 13rd edition of DW! Sao Paulo Design Week, an urban festival hosted in different parts of the capital. Throughout the event, the brand offered a unique program in its flagship store at Alameda Gabriel Monteiro da Silva. It included the series of talks “Connections Beyond Design: Art, Luxury, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Relations” in partnership with Cosentino Brasil, leader in innovative and sustainable surfaces for Design and Architecture.
The entire day of enriching experiences started in the morning with the “Art All Around: Viva Art Gallery” talk with art curator Marina Conde. She presented her new innovative project with Ornare, which will count on a partnership with Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel, Galeria Estacao, Verve, and Millan art galleries, and artists such as Spanish José Luis Puche.
Following on, Marcela Marquetti, Louis Vuitton South America Ambassador, inspired the audience with her engaging narrative about the brand’s history and legacy, and the screening of an institutional film from the brand for the first time outside the LV environment. Marquetti also presented the “Objets Nomades” collection, which has annual creations of some of the most recognized designers in the world – the Campana brothers and Patricia Urquiola have already partnered with the brand. Some pieces of this collection were on display in the showroom, allowing guests to enjoy them closely, a fascinating dive into the universe of creativity and luxury.
Under the theme “Luxury Hotel,” moderated by DW! co-curator Lucia Gurovitz, the third talk of the day hosted Linda Cris Araujo, who presented the concept developed for renowned hotels and shared valuable insights on how luxury in hospitality can attract, thrill, and surprise guests. It was a very relevant discussion about the details and nuances that elevate hosting to the highest standard of excellence.
Closing the night, Carol Tilkian presented guests with a deep and reflective approach to affection and sustainable relationships, exploring the importance of human connections and how they can be cultivated in a lasting way. Tilkian highlighted empathy, compassion, mutual respect, and other fundamental elements contributing to healthier relationships.
“Ornare’s mission is to go beyond the conventional limits of design, which is why we seek to integrate this universe with other important areas. We seek to offer a complete experience for lovers of contemporary design and aesthetics, and DW! It’s the perfect setting for that,” says Esther Schattan, Ornare’s Founding Partner.
During the event, the audience could visit the Timeless Collection – showcased for the first time in Brazil – composing the new layout of the flagship store developed by Studio Ornare under the direction of Murilo Schattan.
In addition, in partnership with Eataly, the luxury Italian food brand, guests could taste a selection of Italian wines and other products of the brand. The activity is aligned with Ornare’s expansion in the European market, marked by the opening of the first showroom in Milan during Milan Design Week 2024.
